Season Overview[]
Viewership[]
Upon its launch, the show topped the TV chart in HBO Max Spain for 6 days.[1]
Trivia[]
- This is the first season in the international franchise to feature a Double Murder.
- Producer Nia Sanjuán flew out to the Netherlands to assist in production of Series 2 of De Verraders, which may explain this version's unusual endgame.
- Journalists before the show's premiere noted the overrepresentation of actors and sportspeople in the cast. Producer Tinet Rubira said "We looked for people used to the pressure. An elite sportsperson lives with competitiveness and concentration. Also people who could be two-faced, an actor is used to getting into someone else's shoes and you don't know if they're a character or not."
- Rubira said producers also had an unusual difficulty finding celebrities for the show in that "It was difficult to find people who, in a leap of faith, would sign up for a reality show without knowing what they were going to encounter or who the other players were. We wanted them to be game players and charismatic."
- As an anti-Covid measure, the contestants had to stay isolated in their hotel rooms for five days before the game started. Some players were also brought in as last-minute replacements for contestants who had to withdraw due to Covid.
- More than 1,000 hours of footage was recorded, and up to 30 cameras were used at once.
