Aftershows[]

Unique Characteristics & Twists[]

  • The Bribe: At the start of the game, the contestants were offered alcoholic drinks served by last season's winner Sam Smith. Two contestants who selected red drinks won NZ$5,000 each, and had the option to either keep the money for themselves or donate it to the overall prize fund.
  • Early Recruitment: Before committing a Murder on their first night, and any Traitors were Banished, the Traitors Recruited a Faithful from the start of the game.
  • Banishment or Murder: After the Mission in Episode 6, Paul announced to the remaining contestants that there would be either a Banishment or Murder that night (but not both). For a Banishment to take place, the players that remained tied (see below) had to unanimously agree on it; additionally, the winnings from the Mission would be doubled if a Traitor was Banished that night, but voided if a Faithful left instead. If any contestant decided to choose Murder, there would be no Roundtable, and the Traitors would go to the Conclave and commit a Murder afterwards, but the tied contestants instead all received a Shield.
  • Traitors' Ultimatum: At the end of Episode 7, there was only one Traitor left. They had to decide two Faithfuls who will be offering an Ultimatum and a Murder to each of them. The Faithfuls have 30 seconds each to make their case before the remaining Traitor makes the decision. Should the Faithful receive the Ultimatum, they have the option to either be obliged to accept Recruitment or be Murdered otherwise. This was then revealed in episode 8. And later in Episode 9
  • Non reveal: In the finale the banished players did not reveal their role.
