The Traitors Season 4 is the fourth season of The Traitors (US). It premiered with a three-episode drop on January 8, 2026 at 9:00pm EST, with each subsequent episode dropping every Thursday at 9:00pm EST as well (two episodes in the second week, and the reunion episode alongside the finale on February 26, 2026).
Background[]
On August 14, 2024, The Traitors was renewed for a fourth and fifth season.[1] After months of speculation about Season 4's cast, the 23 contestants were officially revealed on June 13, 2025, including returning contestant Dorinda Medley, the first Murder from Season 3.[2]
On November 9, 2025, the premiere date of January 8, 2026 was officially announced, alongside a short teaser.[3]

A new official aftershow podcast titled The Traitors Official Podcast hosted by former Traitors Bob the Drag Queen and Rob Mariano was launched, streaming on Peacock and other typical podcast sites. It featured reactions and analysis on key moments from episode, alongside commentary from past and current contestants.

Unique Characteristics & Twists[]
- Returning Contestant: Season 3 contestant Dorinda Medley returned to participate as a full-fledged contestant.
- Secret Traitor/Alternate Traitor Selection: A fourth 'Secret Traitor' who wore a red cloak instead of the standard green one was selected alongside three regular ones. This Secret Traitor was also selected before the contestants even entered the castle - they stepped forward one by one as Alan called their name and opened a box in their faces. The Secret Traitor would see a card marked 'The Traitor' in their box. In an inversion of the twist first seen in the fourth Finnish season, the Secret Traitor would write a shortlist of four names up for Murder, while the regular Traitors selected one of the names from the shortlist to Murder. Additionally, the Secret Traitor did not know the identities of the other Traitors, and vice versa. The viewers were also not aware of the Secret Traitor's identity, allowing audiences to 'play along'. The twist ended after the regular Traitors successfully completed a secret mission in Episode 3 to nullify the Secret Traitor's power (see below); however, the Secret Traitor was Banished before they could join the others in the conclave.
- Murder in Plain Sight: After Episode 2's Banishment, there was no Traitor's conclave. Instead, the Traitors first had to locate four tarot cards hidden behind portraits in the kitchen, representing four contestants the Secret Traitor shortlisted for Murder. They then had to publicly discuss who to Murder, before burning the card representing their choice in the breakfast room before midnight. Completing this Mission also allowed the regular Traitors to unite the Traitors' Conclave. However, if they failed, there would be no Murder that night, no meeting with the Secret Traitor and no control over the next Murder.
- Murder Shortlist/Face-to-Face Murder: After Episode 3's Banishment, the contestants paired up with who they trusted the most for the next Mission, with one in each pair volunteering to be caged while their partner tried to free them; those outside of the cage were automatically immune, while those not freed in time were placed on the Murder shortlist and tied to a tree later that night. They pleaded for their lives in the Traitors' presence, with the Traitors ultimately greeting and Murdering one of them face-to-face in Episode 4.
