The Traitors (US) is the American edition of the global franchise The Traitors. It is the third English edition of the show to launch, and the ninth overall globally. It has currently aired three full seasons.
History[]
NBCUniversal's acquisition of the format for its streaming service Peacock was first announced on October 5, 2021,[1] alongside the BBC creating a British edition. Casting was open until March 11, 2022,[2] with filming from April to May 2022 in Ardross Castle in Scotland, and the first British series filming at the same location immediately afterwards.[3] Alan Cumming's casting as host was announced on April 29, 2022.[4]
The first season was released on Peacock with all episodes that had been produced on January 12, 2023. The series received immediate positive critical and fan reception, with NBCUniversal noting it as Peacock's most watched original reality series to date. A series renewal was officially announced February 2, 2023, alongside a bonus reunion episode hosted by long-time Bravo personality Andy Cohen, filmed on February 17, 2023[5] and released on February 28, 2023. The second season featured and all-celebrity cast, with filming again happening back-to-back with the British series in Ardross Castle.
