The Celebrity Traitors Series 1 is the upcoming first spinoff season (and fourth overall) of The Traitors (UK).
Background[]
A celebrity spinoff of The Traitors had long been speculated given the show's popularity (and celebrity origins in the Netherlands, further fueled when American actor Courteney Cox appeared in a video with Claudia Winkleman to encourage applications for Series 2, as well as many celebrities describing themselves as fans of the show.
On August 22, 2024, after Series 3 had been filmed but before it was aired, the BBC was satisfied enough with the show's popularity that it finally confirmed a nine-episode celebrity series was commissioned, announced alongside a fourth series renewal.[1] The BBC's Annual Plan for 2025/26 published on March 31, 2025 subsequently confirmed that this celebrity series, titled Celebrity Traitors, would to air in autumn 2025.[2]
On April 22, 2025, the full cast of 19 contestants for the series was allegedly leaked, including many long-rumoured names such as comedian Stephen Fry and Olympic diving champion Tom Daley. Filming was also said to begin on that day, with the celebrities all arriving in Scotland that day.[3] The BBC subsequently confirmed this full lineup, releasing an official teaser on May 13, 2025 and confirming that the celebrities would be playing for up to £100,000, going to a charity of their choice.[4]
