The Traitors (UK) is the British edition of the global franchise The Traitors. It is the second English edition of the show to launch, and the eighth overall globally. It has currently aired two full series.
History[]
The BBC acquired the rights for the British adaptation in October 2021; the first season of the show, Series 1, was recorded at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands in May 2022. It began airing on 29 November 2022, with the finale on 22 December 2022. The show became a sleeper hit as its thrice-weekly release format allowed speculation and buzz on the game to build, with 3.2 million viewers tuning in live for the finale. A renewal was officially announced on Feburary 27, 2023.[1]
