"TRAITORS ESPAÑA" is an exciting psychological game in which 18 celebrities compete while trying to guess whom they can trust among their peers. The 8-episode program, produced by Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia) for HBO Max in Spain, premieres in February 2023.

On July 13, 2022, after the program had already been recorded, Sergio was announced as its host at the same time as HBO Max picking it up.[2]
On October 29, 2024, El Confidencial reported exclusively that Atresmedia personality Juanra Bonet would replace Sergio for the revival of the show on LaSexta with civilian players.[3] Sergio revealed that he wanted to return after recovering from leukaemia, but Atresmedia had chosen to proceed with Juanra instead.[4]
