The Traitors Wiki

Quentin R. Jiles is a Faithful and the Runner-up of The Traitors (US)/Season 1, along with Andie Thurmond.

With his charisma and persuasion, Quentin was a loud voice others trusted, possessing some influence within the group. His tunnel vision with regards to fellow Faithful Kate Chastain proved a useful distraction for the Traitors, and his biases meant that he never considered any of the actual Traitors suspicious, instead frequently going after others based on their behaviour.

Despite being continually wrong throughout the game, Quentin did not revise his assumptions, choosing to stick with close allies Andie Thurmond and Cirie Fields until the end. This backfired on him when Cirie revealed she was a Traitor, and he walked away empty-handed. Quentin currently has the worst voting track record in the franchise's history, making the endgame without actually voting against a Traitor.

Gameplay[]

Quentin's rhetorical ability and projected confidence, alongside his generally straightforward approach to the game, meant that he had an audience for most of the game and was mostly unsuspected. His strategy was largely to single out unusual or disruptive behaviour, especially behaviour which upset the group dynamics, as likely signs of someone being a Traitor. He thus misinterpreted Kate Chastain's blunt and confrontational social approach as Traitor-like behaviour attempting to manipulate others, while either insisting that people he was close with and liked - including all four original and Recruited Traitors - could not in fact be Traitors, or blatantly ignoring any suspicious behaviour and slip-ups from them. This also meant he was on the wrong side of the vote when Cody Calafiore and Christian de la Torre were Banished; he instead cast votes against Kate yet again.

Quentin's constant targeting of Kate created a distraction for the Traitors, as people remained suspicious of her even as others' Banishments were prioritised. After Kate managed to outlast her Traitor suspects Rachel Reilly and Christian, she soon turned her suspicions to Quentin, notably because he had not voted for either Banished Traitor and had been constantly wrong throughout the game - behaviour which she perceived as trying to cover for fellow Traitors. Although Traitor Arie Luyendyk Jr. took advantage of Kate's suspicions to try and eliminate Quentin at the final Round Table, Cirie Fields had already solidified her day one alliance with Quentin and Andie Thurmond, and the trio voted as a bloc to Banish Kate.

At the Fire of Truth, Quentin voted with most of the others to end the game, believing that all the Traitors had already been Banished from the game. However, when Cirie voted to Banish someone again, Arie decided to Walk from the game, knowing that the trio would soon Banish him. He tried to subtly warn Quentin and Andie that Cirie was a Traitor, signs Quentin ignored as he believed Cirie voted for another Banishment so there were less people to split the money amongst. Seemingly not processing the implications of Arie having been a Traitor, Quentin again voted to end the game. His joy at making it to the end was cut short when Cirie revealed she was a Traitor, leaving him without any winnings.
