Petolliset is the Finnish edition of the global franchise The Traitors. It is the 16th edition of the show to launch globally, with its first episode airing on September 7, 2023.
History[]
On February 13, 2023, it was announced that rights for The Traitors had been sold to three countries: Denmark, Finland and Germany. It was further reported that Fremantle Finland would produce the show for TV 2 in Finland.[1] The next unofficial update on the show was on April 10, 2023, when Sanoma accidentally made their fall 2023 webinar available publicly, revealing that The Traitors was scheduled for their channel Nelonen.[2] Nelonen then officially announced on May 25, 2023 as part of its autumn programming slate that the program would be helmed by recently-acquired channel talent Christoffer Strandberg, as well as more details on the program: it would be filmed at the Hotel Vanajanlinna with 18 contestants and a maximum prize fund of €25,000. [3] Subsequently, Nelonen officially released the cast and launch date on July 25, 2023.[4]
