The Traitors Wiki

On Trial (also known as Death Row or Death List in other versions) is a common twist on the show. This forces the Traitors to nominate three to four contestants, one of whom must be Murdered the following night. The Traitors may put themselves on trial also. If one of those on trial is banished, the Traitors must decide between the others whom they nominated. During series where the Traitors have been too efficient at Murdering players, this twist may pop up multiple times as a way to give the Faithfuls a repreive.

The French Series 2 used a variation on this wherein the Traitors had to send four contestants - including one Traitor - to the Dungeon, who were excluded from the day's mission and were only brought in to see the other contestants at the Round Table. The British Series 2 did the same.

UK version[]

Series 1[]

Traitors Alyssa, Amanda and Wilf decided to put Alex, Ivan and John on trial in Episode 4. Almost immediately, out of panic that Alex was going to be thought of as a Traitor, Tom let slip at the breakfast table that he and Alex were in a relationship coming into the show, so Alex couldn't be a Traitor as he would have to be as well. While technically a very good defence, the others were unconvinced, and Tom was banished the very next episode.

Ivan was banished at the Round Table that night in a close vote, meaning the Traitors had to decide between Alex and John to murder. They picked the latter, with Alex eventually being murdered in Episode 9.

Series 2[]

The Series 2 variant forced Traitors Ash, Harry, Miles and Paul to nominate four contestants to go into the Dungeon, including at least one Traitor, being excluded from the day's activities. They picked Ash and Paul themselves, and Andrew and Meg. The winning team at that day's challenge could choose to give immunity to one of those put on trial. Despite Paul banking on them giving it to him, they surprisingly chose Andrew, putting Paul's plan in disarray.

At the Round Table, Ash was voted out, leaving the Traitors only able to murder Meg, due to Andrew being immune and Paul being a Traitor himself. Thus suspicion was put on Paul in particular as, having been voted the most popular contestant in an earlier challenge, he was considered to have a target on his back, and contestants were confused as to why he wasn't murdered instead of Meg.

On Trial did not return for Series 3, as it was replaced by the Death Match. The Dungeon did return but as the scene for an Ultimatum.
