What made you apply for this reality series? I love a challenge. I'm always up for doing something, I'm quite fearless like that. I thought ‘why not?’... in for a penny in for a pound.
What was your motivation for being in the series? I have been raising money for bionic hand control by thought and the fact that there is a substantial amount of money up for grabs, that would enable me to get the treatment that I need to get another hand. I had a severe nearly fatal car crash at the age of 22. My son was only four years old and I've had to be strong, I've had someone that's dependent on me. I've had to permanently change the way my life is and the way I do things and also be a role model to my son.
What do you think you'll bring to the game? Do you have a game plan? No, I don’t, I like to see how a situation unfolds and deal with it there and then. Life has shown me that you can't always plan stuff because something will happen, and the plan goes out the window. When you're thinking on your feet you make the best of what you can, that's just how I work, I try and be resourceful.
If you're a Traitor, how will you feel? How good is your poker face? Apparently, I'm very expressive but I don't see it myself. I can be ruthless when I need to be but otherwise, I'm quite open. I'm an open book and people can read me. I’d like to think that I could be quite deceiving. But we don't know, do we?
How far are you prepared to go to win the game? I'll go as far as it takes. It means everything to me.
If you're a Faithful, what qualities do you think you'll need to make it through to the final? I think you need to be resourceful and resilient. I'd like to think that I can read people but there's always that one person that will totally deceive you and you’ve just got to think, kudos to you.
If you were to win, what would you do with the prize money? What I want to do is get the pot of money to be able to be in a position to help me with bionic prosthetics and be able to look at a few companies, then I can play ball. At the moment, I haven't got the money so there's no point going around to these companies to see. I've paid for some trials, but I need to be able to see where I can get a proper fitting and by then hopefully the price will come down. It may lead the way for other people with a similar injury, prove that it's doable and usable, and then maybe it would be available on the NHS, who knows.[1]
