The Traitors Wiki

Les Traîtres Saison 2 is the second season of Les Traîtres (Canada). It is broadcast every Monday on Noovo at 8:00pm, starting from March 24, 2025.

Background[]

On June 6, 2024, it was announced via official social media channels that a second season of Les Traîtres was in production, with a scheduled premiere in early 2025.[1] Filming took place in July 2024, following the production of the second season of The Traitors Canada.

On February 20, 2025, during the 7th episode of the 13th season of the Quebec reality series L'amour est dans le pré, the first footage of Season 2 was shown to two contestants on a date.[2] The first contestant officially announced for the season was Audrey Morissette, a former contestant from the second season of Survivor Québec. Her participation was confirmed via the show's social media platforms on February 24, 2025.[3]

On March 3, 2025, the first trailer for the second season was released on the show's official social media accounts, as well as on those of Noovo.[4] Two days later, the full list 22 contestants, including Audrey, are released on Noovo with age range between 23 and 62 and different backgrounds from all over Quebec.[5]

On March 23, 2025, the first episode of the second season was exclusively screened for the contestants of the fifth season of Big Brother Célébrités. The screening was preceded by a message from host Karine Vanasse[6]. The first episode of the second season was broadcasted on March 24, 2025.

Les Traîtres: La Révélation (or The Traitors: The Revelation in English), the post-episode aftershow where Karine meets with the eliminated contestants to discuss their experience and reveal the identity of the Traitors, returned this season.

A new feature this year: an extended, uncut version of La Révélation is released a few days after each episode on Noovo’s official YouTube channel, offering viewers deeper insights into the players’ reactions and revelations.

Moments savoureux[]

Moments savoureux (or Delicious moments in English) was produced for Season 2, sponsored by alcoholic lemonade brand Simply Spiked. It featured Big Brother Célébrités contestants Éléonore Lagacé and Zoé Duval reacting to highlights from each episode, and was available on both Noovo and YouTube.

Unique Characteristics & Twists[]

  • Celebrity Inclusion: In contrast with Season 1, the franchise featured a former reality TV participant in the cast for the first time, Audrey Morissette from Survivor Québec.
  • Secret Pre-existing Relationship: Karyne Durocher and Mike Martin, who are married, competed as individual contestants. This pre-existing relationship was not initially revealed to the other contestants.[7]
  • Journal of Suspicions: Every Faithful must write a daily journal, documenting their suspicions about the Traitors. When a Faithful is Murdered or Banished, they leave their journal in Karine's office, where all eliminated contestants' journals are stored. The eliminated contestant grants access to this office to the remaining contestant they trust most, allowing them to review the journals of all previously eliminated contestants.[8]
  • No Finale Role Reveals: Any contestant Banished in the finale before the game ended was not allowed to reveal whether they were a Faithful or Traitor.

  • Volunteer Deathrow: At the start of the game, Karine announced that she would add C$10,000 to the prize fund if 5 contestants would step up and volunteer themselves to be put on Deathrow, before any Traitors were selected. These contestants would be the only ones eligible for Murder the next day.
CAFR2 Shield

The Shield as seen in Les Traîtres (Canada)/Season 2'

  • Dagger or Shield: The winner of Episode 4's Mission could choose between either a Dagger (giving them a double vote at the next Banishment) or a Shield (granting them immunity from the next Murder).
  • Saints and Sinners: For Episode 5, the group was divided by the Traitors into 'Saints' and 'Sinners'. The Sinners took part in the episode's Mission and could win up to C$10,000 for the prize pot, while the Saints were told they could relax in a vineyard in the meantime. Karine showed up and talked to each Saint individually in private, telling them they could confidentially bid any amount of the potential Mission winnings in exchange for a Shield, and the highest bidder would win it.
CAFR2 Dagger

The Dagger as seen in Les Traîtres (Canada)/Season 2'

  • Condemnation: For Episode 6, the Traitors had to select a contestant to be Condemned for the subsequent Mission. The other contestants had to rescue the Condemned within the time limit, or the Condemned contestant would end up being Murdered. A Traitor could also Condemn themselves, but they would not be Murdered even if the contestants ended up failing the Mission.
  • The Bribe: During Episode 8, each contestant was asked to write down the name of the player they trusted the least. Once all votes were revealed, the contestant deemed the least trustworthy was offered C$7,000 earned in the previous mission. They could either take the money for themselves or refuse it, tripling the amount added to the prize pot.

  1. Five players volunteered to be placed on Deathrow on the first night, to add C$10,000 to the prize pot.
  2. Instead of a Traitors' conclave, the Murder took place in plain sight, with one of the Traitors giving a Faithful a handshake, and the Faithful telling the Traitor they trusted them.
  3. Instead of a Murder, the Traitors instead chose to condemn one person who would be locked in a cage at the next mission. If the contestants failed to free the condemned person, they would then be Murdered. The Traitors chose Marie-Pier, with the contestants failing to free her.
  4. Kaven and Manuel were tied for the most plurality of votes. They were ineligible to vote again in the tiebreaker, while the other contestants voted to Banish one of them.
  5. Vytee used the Dagger with his vote, making it count twice.
  6. At Breakfast the next day, Karine announced that Michael had left the game. He was eligible to be Condemned the night before.

Viewership[]

Les Traîtres (Canada)/Season 2 began its second season with solid, if slightly diminished, viewership compared to the previous year. Despite a drop from 808,000 to 665,000 viewers, the show maintained a strong presence in its Monday 8 p.m. time slot, outperforming its direct competitor on TVA. It ranked fourth among all spring 2025 television programs in Quebec, demonstrating its continued appeal. While overall television audiences declined across the board, the show remained a standout for Noovo, helping the network retain a competitive edge in prime time[9].

Trivia[]

Gustave

Photo of Gustave, Karine’s Maine Coon cat from The Traitors Season 2.

  • The cat featured in this season and The Traitors Canada/Season 2 is a Maine coon named Gustave. It is not Karine's cat, but rather a production addition meant to contribute further to the in-game atmosphere and unsettle the contestants more.[10]
  • Several contestants from Season 1, including Étienne Nadeau, Meriem Houla and Michel Juneau-Katsuya made uncredited cameos in the opening episode as Karine's followers.
  • Due to the federal elections in Canada, Episode 6, which was supposed to air on April 28, has been moved to the following day.
