Why did you apply to be on this brand-new reality series? What interested you in the concept? When looking at the concept of the show, the idea that you have Traitors existing simultaneously with Faithfuls and how to discern the difference between the two, fundamentally is a social science question. I come from a background where I do a lot of academically strong sciences. There are certain academic principles that I've practiced in my profession, and I wanted to see if that could be applied in a very social science setting, which is the main reason for me being on the show.
What do you think you’ll bring to the game? Logical problem solving, that's what I really want to bring to the show.
Do you have a game plan? I do. The game plan going in is to not tell my competitors about my academic history, because I think that might perhaps put a bias on them, suggesting that I'm an overarching clever figure which I think will put a target on my back. I'm going in with the idea of telling a lie by telling the truth. Now, that may sound sort of counterintuitive, but you lie by telling 90 percent of the truth. Sticking to a story that is almost believable but changing marginal facts. That's the theory that I'm going in with, at least at the start with my introductions and what my occupation is. I'll be reserved, taking in all of the information in like a sponge.
If you are a Traitor, how would you feel? How good is your poker face? I think I will be good at deceiving fellow players because a lot of the motives I'll bring will come from a logical setting, I won't be emotional. I think emotions will bring issues if you are a Traitor, you might go red in the face or get defensive about someone accusing you.
If you are a Traitor, how far are you prepared to go to win the game? I'm very competitive. So, I'll go as far as I need in order to win. That's another thing about me, which perhaps is a downside... I'm very competitive.
If you're a Faithful, what do you think your game plan will be? How good are you at spotting a liar? I think this is where the analytical problem-solving skills that I want to translate into social science will come in. Breaking people down by inaccuracies, asking them a question in different ways and seeing if I get a different response. Trying to find any inaccuracies relative to what other people have said and cross referencing, like how a barrister would do. That will be my main go-to plan and also telling the truth, that's completely easy.
If you are a Faithful, what qualities do you think you need to make it through to The Final? I will definitely need to be on people's side, that is going to be very important. That's an agreeable philosophy, I think I'll be the leader in that case, and if I can control the narrative then I think that will put me in good stead to get to the final.
If you win the prize money, what will you spend it on? I don't know entirely what the prize money is, but I will likely buy a gift for my mum and dad, because I haven't seen them for a little while. I haven't really given that much thought but I'm sure I'll be spending it on the parents.[1]
