Why did you apply to be on this brand-new series? What interested you about the concept? I’m a complete excitement seeker for sure, but particularly this show because my friends and I used to play a board game that’s quite similar. I’m not really a games person, I get quite bored with them but secretly that’s a game I really loved. Also, I liked the idea of spending all this time outside of your normal world with no phone or communication, just focusing on this. I think it's one of those opportunities that you're not going to get ever again.
What's your motivation to take part apart? When I'm on stage working as a comedian, I'm very honest. You have to be to do well, you have to have some authenticity. I think there's an actor in me somewhere that really wants to get out and I love the idea of being someone completely different. In real life, guilt would attack me if I lied about a lot of things. This gives me the perfect opportunity to go out and play someone else. That is of course, if I am a Traitor which I am desperately hoping that I am.
What do think you will bring to the game? I’ll bring some lightness and I'll bring some humour, I’m hoping to otherwise I'm definitely on the wrong career path! I’m hoping to surprise people. I’ll be so involved, I'm not going to play it half-heartedly, I want to get as far as I possibly can.
Do you have a game plan? I'm going to try and be the likeable one, the funny one, but I'm going to let someone else take the lead. I’m not going be too loud but I'm not going to be quiet either, at least initially. If I am a Traitor, I'm going to take out the powerful ones and leave everyone else running around like headless chickens at my disposal.
If you are a Traitor, how do you think you'll feel? Thrilled, couldn’t be happier. Honestly, I'd be so excited. All this cloak and dagger stuff, I'm so into it. I love it.
Do you have a good poker face? Yes, scarily so. I think I'm quite good at it, I've managed to trick my friends in games we’ve played.
If you are a Traitor, how far do you think you'd be prepared to go to win the game? As far as possible. Money is money, the prize is a bonus but it's certainly not the reason why I want to win. Aside from that, the self-satisfaction at the end. Realising I’m so good at lying and cheating... I'd have to have a real think about the kind of person I am!
If you’re a Faithful, what would your game plan be? How good are you at spotting a liar? I’m really good at reading people, I've got really good gut instincts. I never go with my gut in real life because you have to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I'm usually always right about things. I think in this game I will pull no punches. I don’t want to get too loud because I don't want people to want me out.
If you are a Faithful, what qualities do you think you'll need to make it through to the final? I wouldn't lead immediately but eventually I'd want to become someone that people trust and look up to, although I suppose that makes you a prime target. I’d like to not be a huge threat to the Traitors but someone who can lead people. Be a bit of a puppeteer without people knowing.
If you do win the prize money, what do you think you'll spend it on? I'm going to be really boring and invest it in my career, put it aside for all the trains I'm going to spend my money on. I’d probably give myself a couple of weeks off. I would like to do a road trip in America and gig at the same time.[1]
