Forræder (with the subtitle Iblandt Os, translating to Traitor Among Us in English) is the Danish edition of the global franchise The Traitors. It is the 13th edition of the show to launch globally, with its first episode airing on July 28, 2023.
History[]
On February 13, 2023, it was announced that rights for The Traitors had been sold to three countries: Denmark, Finland and Germany. It was further reported that the Fremantle subsidiary Blu would produce the show for TV 2 in Denmark.[1] The next update received was on June 19, 2023, when veteran presenter Lise Rønne announced her return to hosting after an absence with Forræder. The program launch date of July 28, 2023 was also confirmed, alongside reporting that 18 celebrity participants had already completed filming for it. [2]
Despite an initial slower than expected start, the show quickly became a big hit and the most watched program in Denmark weekly. On the day of the finale, September 15, 2023, TV 2 confirmed that a second season was in the works.[3]
