Die Verräter Staffel 2, officially branded as Die Verräter Halloween-Special, is the second season of Die Verräter. Unlike the previous version, it is exclusively available every Thursday on RTL's streaming service RTL+, although the premiere was also aired on October 10, 2024 at 8:15pm on RTL.
Background[]
Following the critical acclaim from Season 1, RTL announced on June 15 that a second special Halloween season along with a third season of Die Verräter was going to be recorded, with Sonja Zietlow returning as the host.[1] On September 13, 2024, RTL announced that the premiere date of Season 2 would be October 10, and revealed 3 of the first 16 players - primarily talents known for their stints on Trash-TV.[2] Six more contestants were then revealed on September 24, 2024, including the return of Season 1's first Murder Susan Sideropoulos[3], and the rest of the cast announced two days later on September 26.[4]

The official aftershow consisted of podcast episodes uploaded as part of the Aftershow – der Reality-TV-Podcast series on RTL+, where recently-eliminated contestants provided more insights into the game.[5]
Unique Characteristics & Twists[]
- Returning Contestant: Season 1 contestant Susan Sideropoulos returned to participate as a full-fledged contestant, re-entering the game with the rest of the group right from the start.
- Early Recruitment: The Traitors were allowed to Recruit a Faithful while committing their first Murder, before any Traitors were Banished.
- Banishment or Murder: In Episode 6, Sonja announced to the remaining contestants that there would be either a Banishment or Murder that night (but not both). For a Banishment to take place, the group had to unanimously agree on it; additionally, the prize pot would either be increased by €10,000 (if a Traitor was Banished that night), or decreased by €10,000 (if a Faithful was Banished instead).

- ↑ Jessica was Blackmailed by the Traitors in Episode 1, but only formally joined them at the subsequent conclave in Episode 2.
- ↑ Because the group voted for Banishment instead of Murder, no Murder took place this round.
- ↑ Sonja asked the group to choose between Murder or Banish. If anyone chose Murder, there would be no Banishment, and the Traitors would Murder one of the Faithfuls. If the group chose Banishment unanimously, they would proceed to the Roundtable for a vote. If the group managed to Banish a Traitor, they would earn C$10,000, but if they Banished a Faithful instead, C$10,000 would be lost from the prize pot.
