De Verraders Seizoen 1 is the debut regular season of De Verraders (Netherlands). It was broadcast every Saturday at 9:30pm on the Dutch terrestrial TV channel RTL 4 with eight episodes total, starting from March 13, 2021 to May 1, 2021.
Due to concerns over COVID-19 related filming restrictions overseas, the show was recorded domestically. It soon became a smash hit with audiences and production rights were sold overseas, although there was some viewer controversy over its similarity to The Mole and the finale format.

Unique Characteristics & Twists[]
- Publicly Awarded Shield: In this first season, Shields were publicly awarded to contestants through voting or for completing certain missions. The only other season internationally where this was the case was The Traitors (Australia)/Season 1, where Shields were also more powerful and protected its holders in Banishments as well.
- Advisory Panel: At the final three, several eliminated contestants were brought back to advise the Finalists on who they should play Prisoners' Dilemma against and what choice they should then make. This exact format was not seen in subsequent versions, in part due to changes to the endgame.
