María Cristina Cifuentes Cuencas is a Faithful from Traitors España/Season 1.

Cristina showed a good sense of humour while participating in the show, winning over many of the other contestants with her charisma and intelligence. This led the Traitors to consider her a huge threat, and they Murdered her to send a message to the Faithfuls.

Profile[]

Retrieved and translated from HBO Max:

Former vice president of the Assembly of Madrid and former government delegate with the People's Party, she was President of the Community of Madrid between 2015 and 2018, the year in which she resigned from office. She currently lives in Madrid where she practices law. She was awarded the Gold Medal of the Community of Madrid in 2021.[1]

Gameplay[]

Cristina was well aware that her politics and past controversies would cloud others' perception of her, so she established a rapport with her fellow contestants by being self-deprecating and admitting that others had a right to distrust her. She gamely acknowledged in the opening Missions that she would be the public's choice by far as likeliest to be a Traitor. Her wit, oratorical skills and intelligence soon helped her form relationships in the game, even with contestants whose politics were diametrically opposed to her.

During the Traitors' first conclave, they decided to eliminate contestants who were not in the winning group that visited the Armoury. Rubén Ochandiano argued to his fellow Traitors that Murdering a notable character in Cristina would convey to the Faithfuls that no one was safe in the game, while eliminating a big potential threat at the same time. The others agreed, and Cristina was thus eliminated (to her lack of surprise).
