Why did you apply to be on this brand-new reality series? In my working life, my ex-career being policing and my new career founding my own business, I'm used to reading people quite well. Sometimes without them even speaking I've already read them and usually nine times out of ten, I'm right.

What interested you about the concept? I've been a mum since I was quite young so predominantly, I've never had the time to do anything just for me. This was a brilliant opportunity and a show I'd be really good at, a chance for me to test and challenge myself.

To see how far I can push myself when I'm not being a mum, when I'm not working, when I'm not doing all of the Cinderella things that come with being a parent and a brand builder, and all of those things.

What is your motivation for taking part? My motivation is to completely challenge myself and see how many fears I can get over, to see how good I am at reading people in a non-policing environment and a non-mothering environment. A lot of people will be going into this for the money, my only motivation is that I want the experience, I want the challenge and I want to do this for me – that's it.

Do you have a game plan? I'm going in with no game plan, I am going in predominantly as me. If I get picked as a Traitor then I'm going to have to think more strategically, but my plan is to go in as me. I'm pretty switched on, even though my academic status is not great, I have lots of real-world and life experience and I will not change. I won't create a game plan and pretend to be somebody I'm not. So, my game plan is to just be me, because that has got me very far in life.

If you are a Traitor, how will you feel? How good is your poker face?   It's very difficult to say until I'm in that situation, but I do have a phenomenal poker face. In life, I'm not a liar but my kids do lie to me. It's a natural thing that teens try and do but in retrospect, I lie to them to get the truth out of them. My poker face is amazing because I can make them believe me and put them right on the spot, they believe every single lie I tell them. Again, with the police, as a police officer, a detention officer, all of those roles, you're not there to lie to the general public but you also have to get the truth out of somebody and there are means and ways of doing that. So, my poker face is very good, too good.

If you are a Traitor, how far are you prepared to go to win the game? I will go as far as it takes to win it. And again, not for the monetary value but to achieve something myself. It's a game and I'm here to play it, I'm here to see if I can push myself to that. As far as I'm concerned, I'm going in and none of these people are my friends. They may transpire to be, I could meet a lifelong friend but that’s not my aim. I'm very, very untrusting of people. My circle is very small, in life in general. I'm not coming here to make friends. I'm also not coming in here to let somebody overtake me in this.

If you are a Faithful, what will your game plan be? How good are you at spotting a liar? I‘m quite a loud, outgoing person, probably the loudest in the room and that won't change. I'm very good at spotting liars. I do it very discreetly. I'm very good at reading a room and I'm very good at reading faces and movement. Slip ups of small words or things that don't add up, instead of jumping on it straight away I'll store it, absorb it and wait for something else if there's time. I'll accumulate what I've got and approach the person in front of other people. I never forget something that's said, especially if it doesn't quite add up. My family say I'm like an elephant because I don't forget.

If you are a Faithful, what qualities do you think you need to make it through to the final? To me, I think to win you have to be yourself. Nobody can keep up the facade of somebody else for a long period of time, it's impossible. If you're a Faithful, it’s about being transparent and really, really observing everybody.

If you win the prize money, what would you spend it on? I have no idea, I haven't even thought about it. I’ve always wanted to take all of my children to Disneyland in Florida, that's one of my dreams.[1]
