Az Árulók 3. évad is the third season of Az Árulók. It was broadcast four days a week over three weeks, starting from November 18, 2024, on Monday to Thursday evenings at 7:50pm. Unlike its precedessor seasons, season 3 had civilian participants.

Background

Following the success of Season 1, the show was renewed for two seasons, one civilian and one celebrity season, both will be broadcast in the fall of 2024. About a month after the finale of Season 2 for celebrities, the show announced that the civilian season will be airing on November 18, with 22 new players being revealed including a married duo.

Unique Characteristics & Twists

• Secret Pre-existing Relationship: Married couple Feri Antunovits and Szilvi Szekeres were cast together, competing as individual contestants.
• Armoury Removal: Shields were no longer given out at random through Armoury visits; instead, contestants had the chance to go for Shields during Challenges.
• Early Recruitment: Alongside the first Murder, the Traitors were allowed to Recruit a Faithful from the start of the game onwards, before any Traitors were Banished.
• Transferable Shield: In the Challenge of Episode 3, any acquired shields were transferable to any other player.
• Murder in Plain Sight: On the 3rd day, there was no Murder at the Traitor's conclave. Instead, the Traitors had to find an invisible ink pen in the cabinet behind the Goddess of Justice sculpture in the library room, with that pen they had to cross out the face of the chosen Faithful in the group picture to Murder their next victim.
• Death List: On the 6th day's Conclave, the Traitors had to write down 4 players on the Death List. The next day the endangered players had a chance to plead for their survival after the roundtable.
• Fire of Trust: Attila called the group to the middle of the forest and told them they would be choosing who they trust the most. A volunteer would initiate a chain of trust by lighting the torch of their chosen contestant and telling them "I trust you the most."; that contestant would then select the next contestant to grant trust to, until one contestant remained. They would be the one to choose between having a Roundtable or a Conclave that night, in case they chose Conclave they would be given a Shield.
• Role Reveal Power: The contestant performing best at episode 12's Challenge won the role reveal power, allowing them to reveal the role of any contestant they chose at a one-on-one meeting later.

Episode 1

Airdate: November 18, 2024

• Traitors selected: Eleonóra, Réka, Timi
• Mission Synopsis: Gravedigging: The players had to split into three teams. They had to run across a graveyard while two paintball shooters target them. The players had to rob the graves, finding chests which were either empty or contained gold bars worth 100,000 Ft or a shield. Any shot player had to stay on the ground until the end of the mission. Shot players' "corpses" can be robbed too. The three teams earned 7-7-5 gold bars, while Enco, Ildikó and Kristóf acquired a shield each.

Episode 2

Airdate: November 19, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Bird Calls: The group of 21 contestants was split into two trios of 'runners' who ran about the castle grounds with a marked map, while the rest of the contestants stayed behind in the castle. Within a time limit of 20 minutes, the runners located various stations, where they heard a bird call after blowing their whistles. They then imitated this call back to the castle group via radios; the castle group then had to search among various stuffed birds to find the one that made the right call, as well as where it could be found. Each correct bird call identified (with a maximum of 2x5) netted 100,000 Ft. There was also a station where the shield could have been taken by one of the runners. The first team earned 400,000 Ft while the second team didn't manage to earn any money and only acquired the shield.

Episode 3

Airdate: November 20, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Witch's Diving Duck: The group had to make two teams. Both teams had to choose a team leader (Dorka+Réka) who had a chance to acquire a transferable shield. The team leaders had to choose a witch (Enikő+Zsuzsi) in each team. They were asked six questions, both the chosen witch and the rest of the team had to write one remaining player's name as the answer to the question, if the two names are identical then they earn 100,000 Ft, they were also asked a seventh question for the shield. Réka acquired the shield and Dorka failed to acquire it, both teams only had one matching answer, thus they only earned 200.000 Ft.

Episode 5

Airdate: November 25, 2024

• Murdered: Dana (murder in plain sight)
• Mission Synopsis: Funeral: The contestants took a long and slow walk to the Murdered contestant's final resting place; along the way, they were given hints about who was safe, allowing them to enter the carriage instead of walking with the procession, and eliminating them from consideration. The three contestants left (Dana, Kristóf, Szilvi) then stepped into coffins at the burial plot, with the group voting on who they believe was Murdered. Every vote on the victim earned 200,000 Ft, with five roses thrown into the victim's coffin the group managed to earn 1,000,000 Ft.

Episode 6

Airdate: November 26, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Puzzle Assembly: The players split into two groups of seven. They had to choose one player (Zoli), who had to describe the puzzles to two runners, who in turn had to describe it to the rest of the players. A plane arrives by the end of the time limit and if it lands then the mission was a success. If one team's puzzle is correct then they earn 100,000 Ft, if both team's puzzle is correct then they earn 700,000 Ft, they played three rounds with the first one being a half-success and the second and third tries being a success, thus earning 1,500,000 Ft. A chest containing two shields was hidden behind the game area, after the last round the group sprinted for the chest and Dorka arrived first, thus claiming one of the shields and giving the other to Dani.

Episode 7

Airdate: November 27, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Pyramid Assembly: The group split into a team of seven and a team of six. They had fifteen minutes to gather together thirteen pieces of a pyramid from their surroundings, after correctly assembling the pyramid both teams earned 500,000 Ft. Both teams successfully completed the mission and the faster team gained a shield, which was given to Zsuzsi.

Episode 8

Airdate: November 28, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Mask Pairing: The group split into two teams. One player from each team took turns running to the amphitheatre to attempt pairing the masks of their team's color. Both the red and the blue team had one mask which had the 'P' letter on it (pajzs=shield), Dorka found the shield mask pair, thus gaining the shield. Each correctly matched pair was worth 100,000 Ft, since they managed to find all the pairs, the team gained 1,000,000 Ft.

Episode 9

Airdate: December 02, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Crime Scene: The remaining 10 players had to pair up and head to the billiards room where they had to memorize the objects found in the room for 3 minutes. After this they had to leave the room and Attila entered to change 10 objects. After the players returned to the room, they had 10 minutes to spot the differences. The pair with the most correct + fastest answers earned a shield and the whole group managed to earn 1,800,000 Ft (50,000 Ft after every correct answer).

Episode 10

Airdate: December 03, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Scarecrow Search: The remaining 9 players were split into two groups. They encountered three questions about their fellow contestants based on a previously-completed questionnaire, with each possible option associated with a scarecrow that had a key on their neck. They had to guess the correct option, carry the scarecrow to a locked box and attempt to open it with the scarecrow's key. If successful they could carry on with the mission, if unsuccessful they had to run back and switch out the scarecrows. The first scarecrow was worth 1,000,000 Ft or a shield given to one of the players in the team. The second and third scarecrows were worth 200,000 and 100,000 Ft respectively. The time limit of the mission was 20 minutes. The blue team earned 1,200,000 Ft, the red team earned 300,000 Ft and a shield.

Episode 11

• Mission Synopsis: Riddle Road: The group was split into two teams, contestants drove a route and encountered riddles. If they picked the incorrect answer, they hit a dead end. Teams had 20 minutes to complete their route, and each team who completed the route would earn 1,000,000 Ft for the prize fund. The fastest team to complete the route was also given a shield. Both teams completed it and the blue team was faster.

Episode 12

Airdate: December 05, 2024

• Mission Synopsis: Apples of Anjou: The players dueled in pairs, both players had a cloche, with an apple hidden under one of them. One of the players could check what is under the cloche and the other player could switch the cloches after a short talk. Meanwhile the rest of the players could bet on the winner of the duels. Each correct bet earned them 50,000 Ft, with a possible total prize of 1,350,000 Ft. The winner of the duel tournament gained a fate-changing prize, the role reveal power. The initial dueling pairs were Gáspár-Zsuzsi and Timi-Feri, after winning the first rounds Gáspár and Timi duelled to decide the winner of the prize. Eleonóra was ruled out from duelling based on a pre-game voting.

Episode 13

• Mission Synopsis: Race Prediction: All players had to predict the order of the players from fastest to slowest at a gokart round. Each correct prediction for the first place was worth 300,000 Ft, for the second place 200,000 Ft, for the third place 100,000 Ft and for the last place 50,000 Ft. After all players drove their round, the final predictions only earned them 150,000 Ft out of the possible 2,600,000 Ft.

• This is the first season of Az Árulók to feature civilians instead of celebrities.
• Record of Traitor banishments:
  • Across all franchises, including non-english versions, it holds first place along with Os Traidores Season 1 (Portugal) which also completed 7 roundtables without a Traitor's banishment.
